I know, these words might mean lots of things, but in general, I don't like to hear them at all. Sometimes they are not so bad, because someone could be joking: Ooh, did stuffed horsey hit you? Well hit him son! Although, there is a very fine line. I'll explain...
We were at the park the other day with our 2 year old and he was all over everything, the slide, then the swings, then the slide again and so on, just like a normal 2 year old. So, he wanted to go up the stairs and get back to the top of the slide but another kid was blocking the entrance of the stairs and he then proceeded to take his hand off of the rail and walked through.

For the Holidays last month our plan was a little unusual compared to other times. My husband couldn’t take any vacation days and since we are a intercultural family, my “Venezuelan” side was calling for a visit (My dad hadn’t met our 2 year old son, Adrian, yet in person since he was born and it had been about 5 years since I didn’t see the city which I grew up in). So I left to Caracas with Adrian for 2 weeks and came back before Christmas.
I knew it was going to be very different for me to go around in the city of Caracas with a 2 year old compared to LA but I wasn’t prepared to notice so many little differences so easy, it was fascinating!

My husband and I used to share the task of taking our 2 year old boy to daycare during the week. Now that he got a new job and his commute is very long he can't help with this so I am the one that not only takes him but I'm with him right after he wakes up until I say goodbye at daycare. (I know, I was spoiled before. Even if my husband didn't take him one day, he would dress him up and sometimes feed him meanwhile I was getting ready).
So, when I hear the first words that come out of his mouth in the mornings: Maaaaami!!, I wonder if I will be able to dress nice today. Will I put on my makeup in the car or at home? Will I have breakfast? Will I be able to do my workout? (yes, I even try to do video workouts every morning) Will my shower be enjoyable? Etc, etc.
My morning routine takes me about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish.
And I use to wake up an hour before I needed to get out of the
house!!??

I know I have to change the way things are going in my relationship with my husband. We are going down a road I don’t really like. It’s not that bad, we are not fighting or treating ourselves badly. We are just not spending much quality time together.
When we had our baby, the sleep deprivation was quite something in between us but because it’s all new and exciting that kind of merged us together even more. Now, being parents of a very busy and energetic 2 year old I think it’s even harder than having a new born baby.
The problem is I don’t miss my marriage as much as I thought I would.
